Senior Garment Technologist – 18 months maternity cover

As the Senior Garment Technologist, your role is vital in maintaining and elevating the quality, fit and technical standards of products. Working closely with design, buying and suppliers, you will ensure that garments meet quality expectations from development through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Acting as a key voice within the technical team, championing product quality and continuous improvement.
• Supporting the Garment Technologist Manager and stepping in to manage the team when required.
• Mentoring and supporting Junior Technologists, helping to develop their skills and confidence.
• Leading fit sessions and ensuring consistent fit and quality across product categories.
• Providing clear, detailed technical feedback using your expertise in garment construction, pattern cutting, fitting and grading.
• Working closely with Design and Buying to improve sample hit rate and ensure products align with brand standards.
• Reviewing testing reports and garment care requirements to ensure compliance and performance.
• Proactively managing and resolving quality control issues.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and factories, including regular communication and visits where required.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of product standards and technical manuals.
• Producing performance and quality reports to help monitor and improve supplier performance.
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience in a Garment Technologist role within womenswear fashion.
• Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with one or more of the following product categories: jersey, outerwear, tailoring, leather, swim.
• Excellent technical knowledge of garment construction, fitting, grading and testing.
• A passion for product quality and great fit.
• The ability to fit accurately and at speed is a necessity.
• Your collaborative and clear communication skills will enable you to work with the wider product team and build successful working relationships.
• You will have the ability to actively contribute to product discussions, the sharing of ideas and new processes to improve best practice.
• You will be enthusiastic about product and constantly seeking to make improvements for the brand and customer.
