The key purpose of this role is to develop and build an offer in your given area that meets the needs and desires of the customer within the brand and in line with the overall brand identity and company ethos. Working in partnership with the buying, merchandising and product support teams to lead the sourcing, purchase and planning of a full and balanced range of product that maximises sales and margin performance.
This is a hands-on buying role suitable for a successful experienced Womenswear Buyer with the skills and experience of product development combined with the ability to lead and develop others.
Key Responsibilities:
• Expand and develop the Brand identity that maximises the potential of a given product category.
• Develop and buy a range of products that provides both wardrobe staples and fashion product for customers, which is appropriate to the market and is in line with current trends.
• Develop and buy a range of product that adapts to maximise trading potential in the market places in which it is planned to trade in.
• Provide direction and support for junior buying team members, ensuring targets are identified and met, giving development and mentoring where required.
• Ensure a comprehensive supply base for product range that has the capability and capacity to consistently deliver against current and future growth requirements.
• Conduct effective negotiations with suppliers that provides a commercial proposition whilst maintains production standards and product integrity.
• Conduct continuous market appraisal to both benchmark against and to outperform the competition.
• Continuous evolution of the category offer to ensure it continues to meet customer expectations for newness and variety.
• Working with key stakeholders to define, implement and review the intake and margin strategy for your category.
• Work with product support team to ensure standards of fit and quality are maintained.
• Regularly review customer feedback and use to develop and enhance product offer.
• Define & deliver against the critical path for products, liaising with product support and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of intake & warehouse volumes can be met.
• Ensure that suppliers conform to the business’ code of ethics and urgently address any potential issues.
