The role offers hybrid working, working from home 2 days per week.
The ideal candidate will take ownership and accountability while seeking and working closely with world-class vendors to develop and deliver products and ranges, in support of the Category Managers’ buying strategy.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong background in European or Far East sourcing and vendor management.
This is what you’ll do:
• Build effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver strategic commercial objectives.
• Helping to create and deliver sourcing plans to achieve category objectives.
• Build effective and collaborative relationships and share business strategy with existing suppliers and external business partners.
• Identify and explore new Cost-Effective Country sourcing opportunities.
• Select and develop new vendors to ensure that the business consistently offers the market leading designs, product innovation, high quality and competitive prices.
• Working closely with the Quality team to ensure sourced products are compliant to both relevant national and internal specification requirements.
• Select and develop products working in collaboration with key category stakeholders.
• Ensure the cost of product assortments are in line with agreed business strategy to ensure delivery of the wider commercial and margin objectives.
• Agree and ensure compliance to business terms with suppliers.
• Identify and ensure all associated supply chain risks are mitigated as far as possible.
• Gain a high level of understanding about the technical aspects of products, freight and manufacturing processes, understanding how commodities and labour impact the cost of goods.
Who we’re looking for:
• Experience and expertise in product sourcing and/or range development.
• A strong understanding of end-to-end international supply chains.
• A strong commercial acumen with proven, effective negotiation skills.
• Clear understanding of the distinction between pure cost and true value.
• Hands-on experience applying category management principles within a major retail environment.
• A resilient, positive attitude and a strong drive to deliver results.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and a demanding workload.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• PC literate.
