Job Description:

As the Head of People Development, you will be responsible for leading the people development strategy and initiatives across the business. You will have involvement in talent mapping, succession planning, and performance management programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Human Resources, with a passion for developing talent in a fast-paced environment.
Due to the nature of this role, it is an office based role where you will be on-site full time.
The Role:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive people development strategy aligned with the company's vision & values.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify talent needs and create programs to address skill gaps.
• Directly managing the People Development teams.
• Support with succession planning efforts to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders.
• Identify skills gaps to enable the workforce to be agile and grow in-house talent at every opportunity through the development of pathways.
• Design and oversee training programs that enhance employee skills and career growth. This includes both e-learning and on-the-job training initiatives to ensure continuous learning opportunities for all employees.
• Continually analyse the training and courses provided to ensure they are delivering the best learning opportunities. This involves evaluating the effectiveness of current programs and making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
• Work with the Apprenticeship team to ensure optimal use of the Levy and continually review opportunities related to the spend, including the development of pathways for apprentices to grow within the organisation.
• Provide coaching to leaders across the business and develop a mentoring program through effective use of the internal Communications and Engagement Platform. This helps in building leadership capabilities and fostering a culture of mentorship.
• Develop an L&D strategy for the UK & ROI that can be shared with wider teams across the globe. To ensure consistency in learning and development practices and leverages best practices across different regions.
• Work with our People Experience team to utilise feedback from the annual survey and Workforce Engagement Networks to address training needs and enhance workplace culture.
• Create programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the workforce.
• Continue to evolve our performance management processes and provide support to managers in evaluating team performance.
• Instill a culture where colleagues feel they can grow within the business and are given opportunities to develop.
About you:
• You will have a proven career history focused on talent development with leadership experience.
• You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Business or a related field.
• Ideally you will be level 5 CIPD qualified, or working towards this.
• Excellent knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and HR Software.
• Your strong communication skills will enable you to influence and build relationships at all levels.
• Your analytical skills will ensure that you are able to interpret data and make informed decisions.
