Job Description:

This is a perfect role for an experienced Assistant Merchandiser who is looking for their next step-up in their merchandising career. Likewise, it would also suit an existing Junior Merchandiser who is seeking a new challenge with a successful merchandising team.

This is what you'll do:

• Help to plan and develop Merchandising strategies that balance customer expectation & profitability.
• Support with implementing new procedures and processes alongside the Senior Merchandising Team.
• Partake in the analysis & reporting of current sales data, customers' reactions and channel trends in order to anticipate product needs and plan future ranges & stock.
• Help build & maintain a comprehensive library of historical data.
• Work to key performance indicators, helping to optimise the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas according to the business plan.
• Pro-active involvement with planning future ranges in conjunction with wider product team.
• Actively involved with the monitoring of slow sellers & proposal of price reductions as necessary including the roll-up of mid and end-of-season sale plans.
• Work collaboratively with the team helping to monitor stock movement and help propose intake re-phasing as necessary based on the forward seasonal plan.
• Collaboratively work with the wider Merchandising, Operations & Logistics teams to ensure timely onboarding & arrival of stock with our various partners.
• Set the department strategy and option framework to ensure a balanced and commercial product range.
• Support the Merchandiser on maintaining department WSSIs, stock and sales plans, ensuring stock is managed to targets.
• Take full ownership of departmental line cards, re-forecasting on a monthly basis and building out future sales plans.
• Proactively analyse sales data and trends and use data to influence decisions in buying meetings.
• Proactively monitor sales and stock in order to take action to optimise sales and margin performance - ensuring team react to sales trend.
• Manage order placement and intake to ensure on time product launches and awareness of product lead times, to maximise trading opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enable flexibility and trading.
• Take full ownership of critical paths and communicate key issues to the wider team.
• Recommendations on pack size, MOQ/MOV.

Who we're looking for:

• Experience either as an Assistant Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser or similar
• Analytical skills - confident in working with and extracting insight from data.
• Detail orientated with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• You'll enjoy working both as part of a team as well as being self-motivated.
• Flexible and open to change as the business grows.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong computer literacy skills- especially in Excel
