Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's fastest growing used car dealerships, which which has recently been announced as the UK Car Supermarket of the Year for the second year running and has plans to rank in the top five independent dealerships in the country.

With over 900 cars on display, they specialise in providing prestige, showroom-condition cars from all makes and models, including brands such as Audi, BMW, Range Rover, Mercedes and Jaguar. With 3 showrooms located in Greater Manchester, they boast the largest 4x4 Centre in the North-West, and have further expansion planned.

The position is a permanent and full-time role which is based in Bury, Lancashire. Reporting into the Workshop Manager, the key role responsibilities are as follows;

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out routine servicing & vehicle health checks
• Undertaking various repairs, from minor maintenance to major/in depth work
• Diagnosing and fault finding
• Ensuring high standard of work and maximum efficiency
• Completing pre-delivery inspections in accordance with company standards
• Continually review own performance and business practises in order to identify areas for improvement
• Listening to customer needs and communicating technical information in a concise and professional manner
• Ascertain labour operation times for the workshop repair, to support the Service Advisor in providing an estimate to the customer
• Ascertain parts required to resolve the customer issue and order as required
• Conduct road tests, report and diagnose problems relaying solutions for repair
• Adhere to the Health & Safety aspects of the working environment
• Record and clock all time spent as per the warranty process
• Deliver an agreed level of service KPI's

Skills Required:

• You will have previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the automotive industry
• You will be fully qualified with a relevant automotive NVQ levels 1, 2 & 3, or equivalent
• You will have a high level of technical skill and expertise
• You will have a full UK driving license (preferably clean)
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc
• The ability to work as part of a strong and well-established team
